Key Responsibilities

  • Identify and execute on opportunities globally to expand and/or enhance the firm’s ESG offering and thought leadership
  • Establish and execute on a research pipeline of original and insightful ESG research reports, educational materials, videos, and presentations/webinars
  • Work with senior leadership across Global X and its affiliates to establish the firm’s short- and long-term sustainable strategy
  • Serve as the subject matter expert and product specialist for Global X’s sustainable ETFs, including communicating with institutional investors and financial intermediaries (financial advisors, registered investment advisors, and brokers) about these strategies
  • Develop product positioning for the firm’s sustainable ETFs and conduct trainings and teach-ins with our sales and marketing teams
  • Represent the firm in public relations opportunities, conferences, and other public-facing capacities as a thought leader in all topics related to ESG, UN SDGs alignment, and related areas
  • Work with the product development team to identify opportunities to bring sustainable investment strategies to market, design innovative index methodologies, and optimise or enhance existing approaches
  • Monitor the changing regulatory landscape around sustainable finance and work with internal stakeholders to ensure firm practices are best-in-class
  • Conduct regular and ad-hoc research projects for internal and external stakeholders on ESG investing
  • Monitor and produce internal reports regarding the competitive landscape for sustainable ETFs, closed-end-funds, and other investment vehicles
  • Assist with preparation of documents and marketing material detailing approach to ESG and carbon foot printing for the purpose of client meetings

Required Skills

  • 4-8 years of work experience, including 4+ years of sell-side or buy-side research
  • Experience of integrating ESG into investment decision-making, and familiarity with ESG issues within investment management
  • Knowledge of ESG regulation and notably EU taxonomy
  • Familiarity with the ESG ecosystem, including index and data providers
  • Adept at synthesising and concisely communicating nuanced ideas to investors and senior decision makers
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including presenting to large groups
  • Strong project management skills, with the ability to balance multiple projects in a dynamic environment
  • Self-starter with an entrepreneurial mindset, who can identify and capture valuable opportunities
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
  • Experience with general financial research and analysis techniques
  • Proven ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams
  • European languages (German preferable)

Education

  • Bachelor’s degree from a leading university, ideally in business, finance, statistics, economics, engineering, mathematics, computer science, or related fields
  • Masters or MBA focusing on ESG and sustainable investments
  • Progress towards or completion of CFA, CAIA, or similar professional designation is preferred
  • IMC a plus
