As an ESG Regulatory Analyst in State Street Global Advisors’ (GA’s) ESG organization, you will help lead the design, development, and implementation of GA’s ESG infrastructure, which helps us meet regulatory expectations and industry standards and provide high quality service to our clients.

What you will be responsible for

As ESG Regulatory Analyst (VP), you will report into to the Head of ESG Operations & Administration and will be responsible for the following:

  • Lead analysis and implementation of ESG and stewardship regulations that impact the asset management industry, including providing expertise around UK TCFD, UK SDR, and EU SFDR
  • Lead analysis and implementation of GA’s industry and public commitments to ensure accuracy and alignment of public statements to internal practices, including leading the production of GA’s annual Asset Stewardship Report
  • Collaborate with Legal, Risk, and Compliance to ensure GA’s ESG framework adheres to internal requirements, regulatory obligations, and external commitments, and implement framework as needed
  • Monitor ESG regulatory and industry developments and recommend priorities/actions for the firm’s consideration
  • Collaborate across firm functions, including asset stewardship, portfolio management, product, operations, and client reporting, to design and implement ESG efforts
  • Help establish and lead a small team, including supporting talent development
  • Work closely with the Head of ESG Operations & Administration to build globally consistent processes and reporting, where appropriate

  • Experience working in asset management, including on ESG topics
  • Experience with global regulators, and ability to interpret regulatory expectations and lead implementation accordingly
  • Knowledge of current/pending ESG regulations, including EU SFDR and Taxonomy, UK SDR, and UK TCFD requirements, and attentiveness to the evolving ESG regulatory landscape
  • Ability to manage complex projects/programs, including coordinating multiple projects and initiatives at one time
  • Experience managing teams, creating a collaborative environment, and working effectively across regions and cultures
  • Strong presentation skills and the ability to influence others to gain support and commitment
  • Attentiveness to stakeholder management, including success in building relationships across levels and functional groups

Education & Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree required
  • 10+ years of experience required
  • Prior ESG experience required
