Position Overview

MSCI ESG Research, part of MSCI Inc., is a recognized leader in supporting the global ESG investing market with data, tools, and analytics. We are seeking to bring additional expertise to our team to expand the scope of client-centric solutions to address growth in sustainable finance and reporting requirements in the EU, UK, USA, and other key locations.

Scope of Responsibility

Collaborating with other senior members of the team, you will be responsible for:

  • Tracking and understanding key ESG policies, voluntary and regulatory requirements, as well as emerging initiatives and reporting frameworks to assist ESG Research in developing policy-aligned solutions;
  • Evaluating policy proposals in terms of feasibility, applicability, and scalability of use by financial market participants;
  • Guiding the world’s largest institutional investment managers and asset owners in navigating voluntary and regulatory requirements around ESG disclosures and impact investing mandates;
  • Representing MSCI ESG Impact Investing Research externally, engage on key market developments, and communicate our knowledge, ideas, and capabilities; and,
  • Working closely with our global analyst team to develop and vet methodologies, and test inputs and outputs of the policy-aligned models.

Specific Knowledge/Skills

We are looking for an individual with a deep knowledge of the sustainable finance regulatory arena and extended experience working with or supporting institutional investors. In particular, candidates are expected to have:

  • Deep knowledge of key ESG policies, regulations, and reporting frameworks;
  • Strong knowledge of capital markets and investment management, with focus on portfolio construction and valuation, ETFs and indexed solutions; and
  • Excellent writing and communication skills, with experience presenting research in public settings, thought leadership discussions and stakeholder consultations

Desired Experience

  • Master’s degree in Business, Finance, or Policy is preferred
  • Minimum 5 years of relevant professional experience in analytics, policy or investment field.
