Job purpose:
- To succeed in this role, you will need to have a genuine interest in the area of Sustainable and Responsible investments, including all aspects of Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) research and topics along with a strong quantitative background
- The role requires a high level of technical acumen, attention to detail, the ability to multi-task and manage projects to tight timelines, and strong collaboration skills.
Your Responsibilities:
- Work directly with the Head of Index Strategy on development of ESG indexes
- Collaborate with index partners to integrate ISS ESG data into custom indexes
- Work with ISS ESG research teams to understand and optimize use of ESG data
- Provide subject matter expertise for the full ISS ESG product suite in the context of index development
- Evaluate market and ESG performance track records of indexes, including reporting
- Work on collaborative thought leadership articles
- Assist marketing and sales teams with product materials.
Skills/Qualifications:
- A minimum of 3 years’ experience working within equity or fixed income passive investing or portfolio construction with a focus on index strategies
- Bachelor or master’s degree with a background in Finance, Economics, or other quantitative discipling is preferred
- Track record of working with large datasets, ideally ESG or alternative data
- Demonstrated project management skills with the ability to work to tight deadlines
- Strong multi-tasking skills, with expert judgment to help set priorities
- Skilled in data science tools such as R, Python, Matlab, or Julia, particularly in portfolio analytics.
- Excellent organizational and verbal skills
- Absolute personal and business integrity
- CFA certification would be a bonus but is not a pre-requisite.
