Overview of the role

The focus of the ESG Strategy & Development team will be to provide a hub of specialist technical expertise on ESG data and applications of ESG considerations in various styles of strategies. The team will be structured by area of expertise with specialist focusing on data, content, product design and supporting the investment desks with advisory services on ESG investing across all asset classes. The team will work very closely with the ESG research and the GRI teams and will be part of the centralized JHI ESG function within investments.

Duties and responsibilities

You will:

  • Create and manage content on the firm’s ESG approach
  • Support investment teams to articulate their ESG approach across different asset classes and different styles and applications of ESG
  • Create new specialized ESG content for various purposes (including RfPs, presentations, reporting, articles, etc.)
  • Support the head of the team with thought leadership pieces and content across a variety of media platforms
  • Develop marketing materials and work with Distribution and the Content team
  • Support the UN RPI assessment and submission process
  • Support client facing functions and ESG client reporting with content and data when required – such as commentary around engagements and thematic write ups
  • Identify opportunities and take responsibility for initiatives that contribute to the success of JHI ESG capabilities
  • Take on additional tasks as required

Technical skills and qualifications

  • IMC or CFA desired but not required
  • Degree educated
  • Content writing, marketing or journalist background desired
  • Understanding of ESG factors, different approaches to and applications of ESG would be highly desired
  • Familiarity with ESG data vendors is an advantage

  • Understand and follow laws and regulations applicable for your role, seeking the help of your supervising manager or Compliance if additional guidance is required
  • Understand and abide by all Janus Henderson policies applicable to your role, and seek support/guidance of the policy owner guidance when required
  • You are ultimately accountable for your actions and responsible for seeking further information on any or all of the above as necessary.

For those in scope of Knowledge & Competence (MiFID II)

  • Knowledge of financial markets, financial markets function and the impact of economic figures and national/regional/global events on markets
  • Understanding of issues relating to market abuse and anti-money laundering
