Job purpose:
- The role will span a broad range of responsibilities from company, sector and thematic research to company engagement and proxy voting
- The successful candidate will join the Sustainability Research and Stewardship team and will work closely with portfolio managers in all of AllianzGI’s global locations
- The location is either London or Paris.
Your Responsibilities:
- Undertake company, sector, and thematic ESG research for equities and fixed income
- Support portfolio managers in incorporating ESG factors into the investment analysis and decision-making
- Undertake analysis of shareholder meeting proposals and provide proxy voting recommendations to the investment platform with a focus on US companies
- Lead company engagements on ESG-related matters and support company engagement by AllianzGI’s investment professionals
- Contribute to the development of AllianzGI’s corporate governance policies
- Contribute to / lead engagements with policymakers through dialogue or public comment letters.
Skills/Qualifications:
- BA or Master in Finance or Economics
- Excellent knowledge and some years hands-on experience of environmental, social and governance research
- Sound knowledge of corporate governance, ideally with US focus
- Strong engagement skills and experience of engagement with companies at board or senior management levels
- Strong written and spoken English
- Excellent communication and presentation skills, clear articulation of ideas and concepts
- Ability to build and maintain successful working relationships with colleagues globally and with external parties
- Self-motivation, self-reliance, good organisational skills
- Good team player.
