Job Purpose: 

  • The Research Products team is looking for an experienced candidate to lead Morningstar’s research licensing business groups across EMEA
  • You will work closely with Morningstar’s research analysts, sales teams, regional leadership, and management to define, market, and grow Morningstar’s differentiated research offerings
  • You will provide a vision for our product offering and leadership across our EMEA teams to drive growth
  • This position is based in our London office and will require travel approximately 20-30% of the time.

Your Responsibilities:

  • Forecast and deliver revenue targets for Morningstar’s equity research and manager research product lines across EMEA
  • Define and maintain Morningstar’s research offerings relative to competitive offerings from other research firms, brokers, and consultants
  • Advocate internally and externally for Morningstar’s research capabilities and be the voice for how Morningstar’s research solves the business problems of our clients
  • Cultivate and share knowledge internally about rapidly changing payment models for research under MiFID II
  • Drive the operating model for how the Research Products team interfaces with Mornigstar’s local sales and client service teams
  • Establish strong partnerships with Morningstar’s regional leaders and sales teams
  • Participate directly in client sales discussions, from discovery through implementation.

Skills and Qualifications:  

  • A bachelor’s degree and MBA and/or CFA or equivalent experience
  • A passion for investing with strong knowledge of the mechanics of equities and manged investment products (funds, separate accounts, ETFs, and other vehicles)
  • Previous experience in an analytical research or portfolio management, sales management, or senior product management role preferred
  • Prior experience managing people
  • Impeccable written and verbal communication skills
  • A demonstrated ability to influence internal stakeholders to build consensus amid competing priorities
  • An inquisitive and critical mind, strong attention to detail, and the ability to multi-task
  • Ability to look at situations from several points of view: internally, externally, and cross-functionally
  • Ability to make timely decisions under tight deadlines, with incomplete information.
