Job Purpose: 

  • The Director, ETF Due Diligence defines and executes ETF strategy across assigned wealth management platform (WMP) client firms
  • Take primary responsibility for the approval and ongoing support of Invesco’s ETF strategies on wealth management platforms, and ensures clients understand how to represent and use Invesco ETF investment capabilities
  • This position inventories client ETF information to customize and execute ETF strategy across all facets of client platforms: research, product management, models, third party provider platforms, partnerships, education, etc
  • The primary focus for this role is on external clients across WMP channels (Broker Dealers, Custodians, Retirement, Insurance).

Your Responsibilities: 

  • Work with WMP teams to evaluate landscape and drive ETF strategy against identified opportunities at assigned client firms
  • Manage relationships and strategy with client ETF research and ETF platform personnel: build trust-based relationships, own touchpoints, and deeply understand ETF due diligence process and needs
  • Work with WMP teams and WMP leadership to support ETF strategy across all levels of client leadership and relevant functional areas (sales desks, operations, platforms, marketing, etc.)
  • Collaborate with Invesco marketing team(s) to build and maintain customized literature for client opportunities: micro-websites, client ETF eligibility summaries for Invesco sales, email communications targeting timely client research opportunities, etc
  • Proactively identify opportunities to promote Invesco ETF products and capabilities to client WMP research teams based on their specific needs and research priorities
  • Liaise closely with ETF Product Strategy & Research, Cap Markets, Portfolio Management, and other ETF subject matter experts to establish meeting expectations, build agendas, and contribute to presentation content for WMP client ETF thought leadership deep dives
  • Stay current with product branding, positioning, trading, tracking, index developments to ensure funds and fund news are positioned with clients accurately, and clients receive important news regarding Invesco’s ETF capabilities in a timely manner
  • Leverage ETF internal resources (Product Strategy and Research, Cap Markets, Portfolio Management) and client resources (asset allocation and market outlooks) to understand how, when and where to position Invesco ETF strategies versus peers
  • Connect Invesco’s distribution teams to relevant ETF intelligence and customized actionable ETF ideas to retain and attract business in ETFs approved on key platforms
  • Coach WMP teammates on best practices, trends and timely discussion ideas to bring all WMP clients on ETFs and smart beta
  • Prepare ETF subject matter expert guest speakers for client meeting series via advance client briefings, meeting objectives, and speaker agendas
  • Liaise with key Invesco teams (Investments, Risk Oversight, Solutions) to communicate the most up-to-date product and asset allocation information to WMP clients.

Skills and Qualifications: 

  • 10+ years of total experience in financial services industry
  • 5+ years of experience in dedicated ETF distribution and/or ETF investments, research or product strategy; must possess extensive investment product knowledge of ETFs
  • Prior experience in investment strategy due diligence, risk oversight, product management or client portfolio management roles is strongly preferred
  • Must exhibit appropriate knowledge of Excel, Word, PowerPoint, industry software such as FactSet, Morningstar and Zephyr, and appropriate internal attribution and performance systems
  • Must be able to interpret and communicate the insights from a variety of fundamental and risk-based portfolio analytics
  • Working understanding of asset allocation techniques to identify opportunities for product placement within client models
  • Ability to understand client needs and desired outcomes, and position Invesco’s products and solutions accordingly
  • Strong written and oral communications skills, must be able to present on a variety of investment products with investment analysts/gatekeepers
  • Investment management experience or strong understanding of financial markets, investment concepts, styles and issues; must be able to communicate effectively on investment issues
  • Ability to establish relationships with internal colleagues including distribution, investment, product management, RFP, marketing and other functional teams
  • Open minded, flexible, and willing to listen for other people’s opinions
  • Bachelor’s degree in finance, economics, accounting or related field of study
    MBA or CFA (or progress towards) is strongly preferred
  • License/Registration/Certification – Series 7 and Series 66 (or 63 and 65) required
  • The ability to lift, carry or otherwise move objects of up to 10 pounds is also necessary
  • Ability to travel domestically up to 20-40% of the time
  • Most trips are 1-3 day trips.
