Job purpose:
- The role will join the ETF Senior Management Team, and will interact closely with the Institutional ETF distribution, Portfolio Management, Trading and Product teams
- The candidate will also help to explore organic and inorganic growth opportunities in North America
- The preferred candidate will be an experienced, highly motivated self-starter with proven success in exchange traded funds and building client relationships
- Existing relationships and familiarity with our proven process is preferred
- Primary responsibilities are (1) to develop new business for BMO GAM (2) to work with the BMO ETF team to seek out ways to become a leader in global markets (3) work closely with various parties to leverage and maximize opportunities through our strategic relationships.
Your Responsibilities:
- Raise awareness and use of BMO ETFs by highlighting our products, people and value proposition with key partners
- Primary coverage of ETF Market makers, Structured Product teams, ETF analysts and media influencers
- Develop and maintain a pipeline of new business opportunities across a wide range of sources.
- Maintain regular dialogue with external and internal partners via presentations and individual meetings to Relationship Management teams, side by side client / prospect meetings
- Through internal and external meetings with clients and partners, accountable for identifying solutions that capitalize on BMO GAMs capabilities
- Maintain regular communication with GAM’s Institutional Sales and Service teams to review pipelines
- Develop product expertise to facilitate detailed communication of BMO ETF opportunities to sophisticated investor audiences
- Accountable to achieve defined sales goals / targets
- Proven commercial success and proven ability to build client relationships
- Provide subject matter expertise to the Senior Management Team on market conditions and trends to maintain a high level of environmental awareness
- Develop, implement and maintain effective business development activivies to expand the BMO ETFs share of wallet by developing and utilizing an extensive network of referral resources
- Resolve complex client escalations, ensuring complete partner satisfaction
- Perform customer service and account maintenance duties for established partner firms
- Mentor and educate supporting team members to increase knowledge base
- Maintain the highest fiduciary duty when representing and acting in our clients’ interests
- Continuously pursue and identify potential risk within our business and processes
- Eliminate, where possible, manual processes
- Automate and build systems that reduce operational risk
- Ensure controls are in place and are being followed by the team to reduce risk.
