About The Role

Morningstar Sustainalytics’ Commercialization Team is responsible for the commercial success of a suite of ESG solutions for the institutional investor market. The team develops product sales strategies: defining the market opportunity, ensuring product fit for client/market need; and supporting the sales process through coordination of go-to-market strategies, training sales teams on products, and providing technical sales support.

The Commercialization team is part of Sustainalytics’ Global Client Relations function. The team empowers investors to make more sustainable investment decisions. The Client Relations team works alongside a diverse range of asset owners, asset managers, and some of the leading financial institutions around the world. We operate in a lively and collaborative environment where no one day is the same.

Position Purpose

Our team is looking for a Commercialization Manager, focused on the product sales strategy for regulatory solutions, including the EU Action Plan. The manager contributes to the commercial success of our EU Action Plan research and data products, including our EU Taxonomy, SFDR PAI and EU Benchmarks Solutions. It is an exciting opportunity for someone with interest and ambitions in sustainable finance and the corresponding policy and regulations that are re-defining the investment landscape.

You will work closely with internal stakeholders including Product Management, Marketing, Sales and Client Advisory as well as directly with clients/prospects and represent Sustainalytics at events and other marketing forums.

You will work in an entrepreneurial and cross-cultural environment, quickly assume new responsibilities/ challenges, and thrive in finding solutions to ambiguous challenges.

Job Responsibilities

  • Play a leading role in developing and implementing the commercialization strategy for regulatory solutions for the institutional investor segment, including the EU Action Plan solutions
  • Support the development of client and market-centric product development roadmaps:
  • Be closely involved in conceptual development of new products – representing the client/ market view
  • Establish sales strategy, targets and priorities for regulatory solutions, including the EU Action Plan solutions together with Commercial Leads
  • Oversee the pipeline and health of our regulatory offering and the connected commercial strategy
  • Work collaboratively with the overall Client Relations team to help strengthen our presence in various markets and ensure opportunities are managed efficiently and effectively including:
    • Leading internal sales training and knowledge sharing
    • Support proposals and sales presentations
    • Contribute to marketing materials
    • Participate in sales conversations as content-matter/ market trend expert on ESG regulatory solutions

Qualifications

  • 5+ years’ experience in product or sales strategy; ESG investing; or the ESG regulatory landscape
  • Demonstrated knowledge in ESG, sustainable investing and the regulatory landscape
  • Experience collaborating with sales teams and contributing to business development goals
  • Curiosity and a drive to stay on top of market trends and developments
  • Strategic thinker with an entrepreneurial spirit and the ability to take initiative, think creatively and proactively
  • Genuine team player, wanting to support the broader Client Relations team, operating with a high level of integrity and collaboratively
  • Strong organizational and communication skills
  • Alignment with Sustainalytics’ mission, vision and values;
