The Information Products group is the home of manufacturing and innovation at Morningstar. The individuals in this group transform our high-quality data, independent research, and technological expertise into well-designed products that delight our clients. The group`s product management, product development, and service teams collaborate with our Client Solutions group to help them provide clients with relevant products and bundled solutions.

Job Purpose:

  • This team is committed to delivering innovative products including Morningstar Licensed Data, Morningstar Essentials, API Center, Morningstar Advisor Workstation, Integrated Web Tools, Andex, and Profiles
  • In this role within the Enterprise Client Management group, you will provide world-class support and service to our institutional research and data clients by understanding how our clients use our solutions to drive their business and by assisting the sales team in identifying new business opportunities
  • You will also manage all aspects related to training for Morningstar Advisor Workstation focusing on French language material and presentations
  • You will compose training manuals, develop Help File content, schedule and conduct webinars, lead in-person training and assist in creating training videos
  • Prior experience working for a major financial institution would be an advantage. This position is based in our Montreal office

Your Responsibilities:

  • Respond to our clients` product, methodology and technology-related questions and proactively check in with them to ensure satisfaction
  • Serve as the single point of contact for client day to day inquiries
  • Gain a deep knowledge of Morningstar`s research, data, and software products and keep up to date with new solution implementation
  • Support product management and sales in the discovery process
  • Assist in discovery and implementation of software projects which will transition into ownership of ongoing support
  • Develop account strategies with sales directors and identify new user groups and business opportunities, which will help Morningstar meet and exceed revenue goals
  • Create and update training materials and concepts to expand training
  • Deliver client training presentations in person and via the web
  • Produce reusable product training material
  • Plan monthly web training sessions
  • Conduct internal training for application releases
  • Work with the Client Education, Product Management and Training teams to ensure training coverage across all products and within all major Morningstar accounts

Skills and Qualifications:

  • Fluency in French and English (written and spoken)
  • High-energy, proactive individual who is confident, well-organized, personable and articulate
  • Strong technical, presentation, and consultative skills
  • Three to seven years of client service experience within the financial marketplace is required
  • Proactive, strategic, and creative thinker with a collaborative approach to problem-solving and project management
  • Dedicated to increasing user knowledge and adoption of Morningstar products by our clients
  • Excel in a fast-paced environment while still producing very high-quality, detail-oriented work
  • Proven organizational and multi-tasking skills, as well as a thorough understanding of investment data and financial analysis
  • Outstanding presentation and communication skills
  • Periodic travel across Canada required for the purpose of training clients, conducting workshops and attending conferences
  • Experience with Adobe Acrobat, Adobe Captivate, and Webex (or other webinar software) would be an asset
  • Prior experience supporting financial data solutions is a plus, as is a willingness to expand your technical knowledge
  • Proven aptitude for, or knowledge of investing in equities, along with investment products such as Mutual funds, ETFs and Segregated funds
  • University degree required; language and finance specialization.
