In this role, you will be responsible for leading our strategic business development efforts with broker dealer partners of the US ETF SPDR Capital Markets Group. More specifically, this individual will manage our day to day engagement with Tier 1 bank broker dealers, primarily raising seed capital, securing market making support, and identifying distribution opportunities to further amplify our voice around SPDR ETFs.

Key Responsibilities

  • Ownership of B2B account plans for Tier 1 broker dealers partners – engaging with issuer relationship managers, ETF / portfolio, delta one, securities financing, and fixed income sales and trading desks
  • Ensure support from Tier 1 broker dealers for SPDR priorities as it relates to market making, distribution, and product innovation
  • Assist in projects and working groups, both internal and external, related to the development of fixed income ETFs and the evolution of bond market structure
  • Assist in expansion of coverage to Tier 2 Broker Dealer accounts – assessing needs of SPDR business, identifying partnership opportunities, establishing strategic account plans
  • Develop ETF Capital Markets thought leadership via white papers, marketing materials, or sales literature.

Internal Partnerships

  • Deliver risk excellence and support the business as a whole through internal and external relationship development
  • Collaborate with teams across SSGA and other State Street business divisions to maximize Broker Dealer relationships
  • Facilitate an understanding of the Americas’ SPDR business and its strategy and priorities across key internal partners
  • Specific to the SPDR Business, you will work collaboratively with:
    • Distribution
    • Client Enablement
    • Marketing
    • Product

Broker Dealer coverage:

  • ETF Sales & Trading, Equity Portfolio Sales & Trading, FICC Sales & Trading, and where applicable, Equity Derivative Sales & Trading and Prime Brokerage
  • Regional and Global Relationship Management teams

These skills will help you succeed in this role:

  • 10+ years of sales, trading, or business development experience
  • Bachelors Degree
  • Strong fixed income background, preferably from large financial institution; you have strong understating of the dynamics that drive capital markets
  • Experience managing relationships and engaging with senior level executives
  • Very proficient with Bloomberg, Microsoft PowerPoint and Excel\
  • You should have the aptitude to think and act globally, harmonizing global, regional and local objectives. A developed sense of judgment and the ability to balance business needs in an objective and practical way is critical
  • Strong critical thinking skills with ability to frame business issues and apply data analysis to support strategic decision-making
  • Ability to learn quickly and demonstrate industry and product knowledge
  • Ability to build relationships within our team, across our organization, and with our clients
  • Strong aptitude for multi-tasking
