Job Purpose:

  • The LSE Secondary Markets and Turquoise Sales team is responsible for all aspects of business development in Equities, ETF and Fixed Income trading, promoting incremental growth and managing account activity with both new and existing clients
  • The business development team takes responsibility for the origination of new clients, defines and develops new business opportunities from existing LSE and Turquoise member firms and creates new initiatives designed to enhance current Secondary Market relationships
  • This Business Development Manager role will be part of the LSE Cash Secondary Markets and Turquoise Business Development team, reporting directly to the Head of Sales and Marketing, LSE Cash Secondary Markets and Turquoise and will also have a focus on the business development activities in key markets (to be defined)
  • The role will have some responsibility for increasing LSEGs profile and interaction with market participants in geographies which are identified as having significant potential in terms of new revenue opportunity. In addition, as part of the Secondary Markets and Turquoise sales team, this role will have a significant input in the design and implementation of marketing strategy aimed at raising foreign investor awareness of LSEG secondary markets and associated trading services
  • Specific tasks will include the definition (along with the team head) and implementation of a sales and marketing strategy for client account management and where appropriate each region of focus
  • The role will liaise closely with all relevant stakeholder groups across Capital Markets to market and raise the profile of LSEG products with the investors, new lead generation in terms of brokers and traders, account coverage of banks and brokers (excluding proprietary traders) in the region, coordination of marketing events and materials, and where appropriate, work with the Product team on new products related to these regions
  • A detailed knowledge and an ability to describe the products of LSE Cash Secondary Markets and Turquoise, as well as some LSEDM and IDEM products will be necessary or will need to be acquired

Your Responsibilities:

  • Reporting to the Head of Sales and Marketing, LSE Cash Secondary Markets and Turquoise, this individual will be responsible for generating new sales and managing relationships with brokers, dealers, and principal stakeholders as well as helping drive product development
  • Working across LSEG teams, design and implement a global marketing strategy to raise foreign investor awareness of LSEG trading products.
  • Exceed revenue goals through rigorous account planning and implementation.
  • Market LSE Cash products to multiple points of contact within accounts and prospective accounts, including senior executives and decision makers.
  • Forge in-depth dialogue and strong relations with key dealers and stakeholders.
  • Act as an œambassador for Capital Markets and wider LSEG to identify opportunities for the Group through cross-sales and lead generation activities.
  • Develop a strategic understanding of clients businesses and their requirements and work with Product Team to support and inform enhancements and new product initiatives
  • Develop and display a deep knowledge and understanding of LSEG products and pricing.
  • Maintain detailed electronic history of interaction with prospects and clients in the LSEs Customer Relationship Management system.
  • Maintain accurate pipeline of sales opportunities and contacts.

Skills and Qualifications:

  • Demonstrable sales and account management experience, ideally within financial markets (Investment Banks, Brokerages, Technology and Data vendors etc.).
  • Practical experience in both sales and marketing, ideally with some previous experience in developing and managing relations in remote regions.
  • Self motivating and resilient with the ability to work independently as well as within a wider team.
  • A focus on delivering against objectives.
  • Must show the ability to develop and implement strategic and tactical sales plans.
  • Excellent relationship management skills and ability to become an influencer both internally and externally.
  • Commercially focused and highly presentable with experience in winning external pitches.
  • Ability to manage demanding performance targets.
  • Excellent verbal and written communications skills are a must.
  • Exceptional presentation and PowerPoint skills and comfortable engaging with an audience.
  • Ability to work to tight deadlines and under pressure whilst maintaining a constructive and professional work demeanour.
  • Travel required within the UK and internationally.
  • Language skills would be advantageous, however demonstrating success business developing in other regions outside the UK would be favourable but not essential (Russia, CIS region in particular).
