Job Purpose:

  • Nuveen is looking for a junior hire within the Capital Markets Team for its NuShares ETF business
  • The Capital Markets Team is the primary point of interaction between liquidity providers, portfolio management and sales
  • This role will have responsibilities across the entire ETF Capital Markets discipline, primarily focusing on managing product liquidity
  • The position will also have significant engagement with the ETF Product Management and Development Team

Your Responsibilities:

  • Manage all aspects of secondary market liquidity, including launch liquidity and helping larger ETF investors enter and exit trades
  • Source seed capital for ETF product launch
  • Work with the rest of the Capital Markets team to manage relationships with liquidity providers, institutional sales and research desks at major ETF and equity trading houses
  • Collaborate with the ETF portfolio management team and the street on creation/redemption, rebalancing or corporate action issues
  • Conduct industry analysis and comparison to make sure Nuveen’s ETF business is competitive from a capital markets perspective
  • Understand and coherently discuss investment and trading strategies
  • Contribute to regular capital market oversight commentary and analytics
  • Maintain familiarity with industry best practices and trends within the ETF Regulatory environment
  • Partner with ETF Product Management and Development team to develop and maintain competitive positioning resources
  • Actively engage with the ETF Specialist and National Accounts teams to support business development efforts

Skills and Qualifications:

  • 3 to 5 years of relevant work experience in the asset management / financial services industry, particularly with direct experience with Exchange Traded Funds a distinct positive but not required.
  • Possess a blend of quantitative and interpersonal skills, with a proven ability to communicate effectively
  • Ability to clearly present ideas while respectfully challenging the ideas of others
  • Ability to grow and maintain relationships within the ETF eco-system
  • Ability to operate autonomously
  • Must be experienced with Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint
  • Bachelor’s degree required
  • Familiarity with Bloomberg and Morningstar Direct
  • Existing Series 7 and 63.
