Job Description:

The successful candidate will join the APAC fixed income iShares product team within the ETF and Index Investments business (EII).  Our cross functional team is responsible for driving client adoption of fixed income ETFs and index funds across the region by supporting client engagement for both institutional and wealth investors, creating thought leadership on fixed income markets and fixed income index products, contributing to new product research & innovation, setting commercialization strategy for new launches, partnering with fixed income broker/dealers, and evolving the platform and ecosystem.

The role will involve close collaboration with regional and global business management, product strategy, portfolio management, product innovation and development, marketing, sales and distribution and global markets teams within EII, as well as partners across the wider Blackrock organization to support the team in delivering against strategic initiatives for the APAC fixed income iShares business.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support the APAC fixed income iShares business to deliver against strategic objectives and on day-to-day activities
  • Contribute to strategic initiatives to build the APAC fixed income indexing business, including assessment of market landscape, focusing on the countries and segments with the greatest opportunity, and driving FI index product client adoption through use of consistent narrative, use-cases, and amplification of messaging through marketing strategy and commercial partners
  • Support product strategists in responding to client queries, performing fund and index analysis vs alternative exposures or competitor products, and contribute to content creation to support client engagements and marketing strategy
  • Track fund flows and associated impact on net new business and revenues, with consideration of competitive landscape and macro environment
  • Generate client activity metrics and reporting for senior stakeholders regionally and globally, and work with sales teams to identify potential new clients
  • Work with internal stakeholders to generate business insights to advance commercial strategies, effective resource and budget allocation, and identification of product gaps
  • Align regional business strategy to global product roadmap, and articulate complex or interesting observations to both regional and global senior leadership
  • Represent the APAC fixed income iShares business at appropriate regional and global forums
  • Develop and enhance systematic workstreams to centralize and monitor business performance
  • Independently design and build data visualization reports and dashboards.

Qualifications/Experience/Skills:

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in related disciplines
  • 2+ years of relevant industry experience, preferably with at least a basic level of knowledge in fixed income securities and markets, as well as ETF and/or index strategies
  • Some experience of business management or business strategy a plus
  • Basic proficiency in Python/VBA with the interest to further develop and utilize programming skills whilst in the role
  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office (advanced Excel/Powerpoint/Word)
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills a must
  • Proven ability to balance competing priorities, workloads and tight timelines in a fast-paced, dynamic work environment
  • Experience with Aladdin tools and applications, as well as knowledge of Aladdin data sources a plus
  • English required, other regional languages advantageous (Mandarin, Japanese, Korean)
  • Effective team player, with demonstrated ability to develop and maintain effective working relationships across all levels of an organization
  • Organized and detail-oriented, with strong emphasis on time management and ability to multi-task in a high-pressure environment with tight deadlines
  • Strong problem-solving skills, with ability to synthesize data, summarize issues and think outside the box
