To support this growth, we are looking for a Vice President to help launch and grow the ETF business based in Australia and partner with the Global ETF capital markets team.

The ETF Capital Markets  role oversees the strategic relationships with Exchanges, Authorized Participants and Market Makers, alongside working with our client advisors and their clients to achieve optimal trading outcomes whilst promoting our ETFs in Australia. As a member of the team, you would be responsible for delivering key outcomes across the following segments;

Markets:

Listing Exchanges

  • Maintain relationships with listing exchanges in Australia.
  • Advocate for market structure initiatives vital to the progress of the ETF ecosystem
  • Manage listing process and leverage appropriate marketing and LMM programs to further growth

Authorized Participants and Market Makers

  • Maintain relationships with Market Makers and APs to facilitate a seamless trading environment
  • Procure adequate liquidity and spreads both on and off exchange prior to, and after, launch
  • Monitor spreads and premiums across product line and communicate issues with Lead Market Maker

Clients:

Retail & Institutional

  • Develop and maintain strong working relationships with the sales teams across all client segments
  • Assist sales teams by participating in client meetings and other client events promoting our ETF solutions to Australian intermediaries.
  • Educate clients on the trading mechanics of ETFs and safely guide them toward best execution
  • Working with Exchanges on educational sessions to promote brand and knowledge.

Broker Dealers

  • Educate market participants about new and existing products to promote product growth
  • Identify institutional use cases for ETFs by working alongside various sales and trading teams
  • Conduct joint client events and develop thoughtful research notes with ETF trading desks

Business Development:

Product

  • Be integrate with the APAC ETF team looking at new solutions and marketing campaigns.
  • Work closely with product development to ensure new products are structured to trade efficiently
  • Advise product team on enhancements that will lead to improved liquidity and market quality
  • Further the development of transparent and semi-transparent active funds

Platform

  • Guide the build out of surveillance and analytical tools to advance and protect business
  • Remain at the forefront of new industry developments to enhance platform
  • Attend and participate in industry conferences and market structure committees

The ideal candidate will have:

  • 10+ years of financial services experience, preferably in Sales and Trading or Capital Markets at a top tier investment bank, trading firm or asset manager
  • Multi-asset knowledge including equities, fixed income and derivatives
  • Familiarity with current exchange and regulatory landscape effecting ETFs
  • Strong knowledge of ETF mechanics, including the factors that drive pricing
  • Excellent communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills
  • Effective relationship management skills and ability to build credibility with internal stakeholders
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to break down complex problems and create effective solutions
  • Strong technical skills (Excel, Bloomberg, etc.) required. Programming skills a plus
  • Bachelor’s degree required; CFA, MBA or advanced degree preferred
  • Melbourne or Sydney based
