Job Purpose: 

  • The ETF Capital Markets team is responsible for activities relating to the primary and secondary market activity of FlexShares products and acts as a primary educator on ETF trading and the ETF-market ecosystem, both internally and externally
  • This role will be responsible for assisting in the management of relationships with market participants (e.g., market makers, authorized participants and exchanges), assisting in the cultivation of relationships with the client investors and prospects, providing dedicated product information and analytics to market participants, and developing and monitoring methods for measuring the market quality of our ETFs
  • The role reports to Northern Trust’s Head of ETF Capital Markets.

Your Responsibilities: 

  • Monitoring and assessing intraday ETF market activity
  • Producing and issuing weekly, monthly, and quarterly ETF capital markets reports
  • Developing and supporting market participant relationships
  • Liaising with ETF Product Management to coordinate/support creation-unit transaction activity, as necessary
  • Supporting FlexShares Sales, including by producing and presenting competitive-product and market analysis
  • Partnering with the internal departments in support of product development, business development and other strategic business initiatives
  • Internal/external speaking engagements
  • Relationship management with strategic partners
  • Product development/enhancement
  • Analysis and provide assessment of trends in the ETF ecosystem
  • Travel with members of our sales teams as necessary to support client sales, servicing and education
  • Internal and/or external thought leadership.

Skills and Qualifications:  

  • Bachelor’s degree with some background  in data analytics and statistics
  • Series 7, 63
  • One to three years of related prior professional or academic experience
  • Basic knowledge of ETFs and the ETF industry
  • Proficiency with Microsoft tools such as Excel and Access
  • Additional work with Morningstar Direct and Bloomberg a plus
  • Excellent communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
