OVERVIEW
The Junior ESG Specialist is part of the Client Success Team in charge with serving ISS ESG’s clients, collaborating with Sales on product pitches and RFPs and with representing ISS ESG in the market. His/her role is to gradually learn the Client Success tasks by supporting the Senior Specialists and using various tools (Data desk, ORBIT, CRM, Salesforce) on a daily basis. Eventually and after a first period of supporting the team, the Junior Specialist will be able to take over “easy” clients (e.g. that only sometimes request single reports), before moving into a role of Senior Specialist after a certain period.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Support for client relationship management
Background research on „secondary projects“
Prepare Powerpoint presentations
Manage the Client Success inbox (screen incoming messages, transfer to relevant colleagues)
Criteria mapping (support with mapping ISS criteria to market standards, regulations etc.)
Search for sources on controversy research when necessary
Monitor clients’ RI / ESG related publications and news
Take over simple client requests (e.g. platform password reset, platform demo)
Support RFP / DDQ processes
Managing client feeds (e.g. managing the integration of feeds into clients’ systems, work with the Deliverables team on automated feeds, …)
Salesforce management
Support Specialists with „cleaning up” client contacts
Manage list of Salesforce improvement needs
New Client Onboarding tasks
Create new platform accounts
Send out onboarding emails
Basic platform training (ORBIT, DataDesk and Pooled Engagement)
Support the Client Success Team in other tasks
In-depth research on competitors
Background research for ad hoc projects
Liaising with internal teams (Product Development and Research)
Marketing-related activities
Social media
Manage client mailing campaigns (research newsletter etc.)
Translation of communication material
Market studies / monitoring
Help manage / sending out of client alerts
QUALIFICATIONS
Expertise & market knowledge
Knowledge of or strong interest in ESG and responsible investment
Good understanding of, and interest in, capital markets
Good data handling capabilities
Experience in working directly with data and understand its underlying research methodology is an advantage but not a necessity
Client coverage / Sales experience
Track record of success in client facing roles such as client service and/or sales is an advantage but not a necessity
Ability to understand key client needs, with a commercial orientation that helps identify sales opportunities
Strong project management/organizational/multi-tasking skills required
Ability to adapt to different cultural contexts
Outstanding writing, communication and presentation skills
Fluent in Swedish and English
Experience with Salesforce or other client management systems is an advantage but not a necessity
Training & experience
Relevant Master’s degree, or equivalent experience
