Your Team:
The ETF Execution & Liquidity Services Group is responsible for delivering ETF market insights and conveying execution guidance to ETF clients across North America. This team is responsible for understanding the nuances of trading ETFs spanning all asset classes and is tasked with effectively communicating optimal trading strategies to clients in an effort to help them achieve best execution and increase ETF usage. This team is also responsible for ensuring secondary market quality ETFs listed in Canada and works closely with exchanges, lead market makers and buy-side trading desks.
Your Role:
As the Director, ETF Capital Markets for Canada you will support key ETF client segments around ETF trading and liquidity needs and will work closely with sell-side ETF Sales & Trading partners. In this role, you will ultimately be the liaison between the sales force, clients and the Global Capital Markets team.
Key Responsibilities / Duties:
- Develops and maintains relationships with existing and perspective market making firms, ATS’ and Exchanges in order to enhance liquidity and reduce spreads in the entire Invesco Canada lineup of ETFs
- Acts as the point of first contact for such relationships in terms of pricing, basket and other ETF liquidity inquiries
- Is the ETF trading subject matter expert and demonstrates in-depth product knowledge to promote ETF usage and differentiate Invesco Canada’s ETF from competitor funds
- Assist clients across all channels (Retail, RIA, and Institutional) in achieving best execution when trading Invesco Canada’s ETFs
- Provide education on ETF liquidity and effectively communicate specific trading strategies and associated costs
- Responsible for managing and enhancing pre-trade analytics and reporting platform and capabilities
- Write ETF focused market insight pieces and trading research for both internal and external audiences
- Collect, analyze and extract meaning from ETF trading data in an effort to produce relevant content and drive inflows
- Monitor volume, inflows/outflows, premiums/discounts, short interest and borrow and identify trends to support sales teams
- Monitor articles, white papers and blogs that highlight potential issues with ETFs and help coordinate the proper response, making sure it aligns with our global messaging
- Monitor secondary market quality and drive spreads in by engaging additional on-screen market participants
- Manage new and existing LMM/DLP assignments and act as subject matter expert in ETF market maker programs
- Collaborates with internal working groups including product development and research to enhance new and existing products
- Help manage relationships with and maintain protocol with our sell side capital market sales partners who are looking for access to key clients and events
- Responsible for proactively developing innovative capital markets content and information necessary to attract new customers and support existing
- Drives ETF value proposition through delivery of educational presentations, thought leadership and strategic content
- Understands various client segments and shapes content and delivery as applicable
- Initiate educational ETF events focusing on liquidity, trading and market structure as well as other relevant topics that further establish ETF as a thought leader in the ETF market
- Works closely with broader capital markets team to leverage resources and act as conduit for Capital Markets thought leadership to various client segments
- Represents relevant capital markets color to internal teams
- Speaks directly with clients about trading strategy, liquidity, market color, impact, counterparty feedback, execution guidance and ETF implementation strategies
Experience you bring:
- A Bachelor’s Degree in Finance or related field, MBA a plus
- CFA preferred
- ETF trading or sales trading experience required
- 5+ years of experience in asset management, capital markets or financial services preferred
- Deep understanding of ETF structure and mechanics of creation & redemption
- Ability to understand and articulate complex investment concepts and strategies
- Understanding of capital markets, market structure and competitive landscape including delta 1 products
- Exceptional communicator and public speaker with strong customer service capabilities
- Ability to understand and articulate complex investment concepts and strategies
- Ability to recognize and research trends, synthesize and communicate effectively to internal and external teams
- Deep understanding of ETF structure and mechanics of creation & redemption
- Creative and self-motivated individual who works collaboratively in a high performance, team environment
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to conduct complex analysis and present data in a meaningful way
- Interpersonal skills necessary to effectively communicate over the phone with a variety of individuals at all technical levels are required
- Customer service driven with strong presentation skills
- Excel, PowerPoint and Bloomberg proficiency
