  • ETFs continue to have significant growth opportunities ahead, with huge potential to convert new users, deepen use by existing users and develop entirely new uses and applications.  iShares provides a range of products that span broad portfolio building blocks to more sophisticated investment strategies, and we are continually looking for new and innovative ways to give clients access to different types of investments and to help them construct efficient, transparent portfolios.
  • The Vice President of ETF Product Innovation will be a key member of the US Product Innovation and Research team which is responsible for developing new ETF product ideas primarily including Factors as well as working with the other team members in Sustainable and Fixed Income.
  • Factors is the is a top strategic priority for iShares and the Factor ETF leader in the US.
  • It is a dynamic and creative opportunity with high potential for visibility and interaction with our best in-class Factors Based Strategies team led by Andrew Ang and external partners. The role reports to the head of US ETF Product Innovation and Development.  This position can be based in either our San Francisco or NYC offices.

Responsibilities include:

  • Continue to evolve the Factor Product strategy for the US
  • Partnering with portfolio managers, global markets, product strategists, global strategy, research, sales and marketing to identify new product ideas.  Additionally, one will partner with the same teams to extend and or modify existing suites.
  • Become an external and internal spokesperson for our product suites and the modernization of the bond market
  • Conducting industry research and market analysis to evaluate and prioritize product concepts
  • Generate practical and efficient execution and design by working with legal, compliance, product architecture and implementation teams
  • Work with sales and marketing teams to commercialize our launch opportunities and develop an execution plan for new products
  • Monitoring competitive funds and filings to support product development
  • Qualifications and experience:
  • 5+ years of experience in financial markets in a relevant capacity (investments, trading, structuring, research)
  • In depth knowledge of factors ETFs
  • Strong understanding of financial markets and investments, good commercial instincts and intellectual curiosity
  • Understanding of legal & regulatory consideration involved in structuring an ETFs
  • Preferable knowledge of buy-side and sell-side firms in investable indices including equities, fixed income and cross asset factor products
  • Ability to simplify technical concepts
  • Ability to build relationships and influence people at all levels and functions within the firm, and to work well across investment teams, client-facing sales and product consulting teams, product implementation teams and external influencers (clients, sell side research, industry experts)
  • Excel, Bloomberg and PowerPoint. Ability to code in python, matlab or R is preferable.
  • Quantitative undergraduate such as engineering or math is preferable
