Job Purpose

 ETF.com are looking for a Digital Marketing Manager to join the wider digital team including sales and operations/data analysis. The purpose of this role is to shape and implement digital activities that will grow ETF.com’s known audience and deliver ‘paid for’ client activity, while reporting on results. The role will work closely with the Sales and Editorial teams. As the only marketing role initially, the successful candidate must be a self-starter capable of working independently, while having the maturity and good judgement to know when to ask for help and support.

Key Accountabilities and Scope:

  • Ensure all digital marketing activity, house and paid for, is on brand and supports building the ETF.com reputation and audience
  • Lead update, maintain and continuously improve the ETF.com front end via the web content management system (CMS) and partner with the tech team on new developments and functionality
  • Continual focus on improving the UX for priority segments by understanding and improving visitor journeys and outcomes
  • Manage the implementation of new pages and sections, while actively improving or removing pages and sections according to their usage and performance
  • Monitor the website and implement Search Engine Optimization (SEO) and paid search (PPC) to analyse web traffic, identify trends and report internally.
  • Manage the implementation of email marketing communications and other digital activity e.g. webinars and social media.
  • Manage and develop the CRM, working closely with the tech team, so it can be used for data-led activity and decision making and by the data analyst for their analysis and reporting
  • Be capable of building and managing a digital marketing team in time
  • Implement tagging, tracking and lead scoring across all digital activity, establish benchmarks, monitor and report performance, especially ‘paid for’ activity for reporting to clients
  • Produce metrics, regular and tailored reporting to aid decision making and demonstrate value delivered for clients doing ‘paid for’ activity using internal data sources (CRM) and external tools such as Google Analytics
  • Carry out ad hoc competitor analysis/benchmarking of their websites and activity to assist in strategic decision making
  • Demonstrate a track record of staying updated on digital marketing developments and innovations and adopting relevant ones
  • Co-ordinate with the Tech team and Sales on planning of techstack developments and maintenance including to increase effectiveness while minimising any business interruption
  • Understand and adhere to corporate and industry best practice guidelines

Skills and Qualifications

  •  5+ years of digital marketing experience, ideally within a major media or B2B financial services firm
  • Bachelor degree and postgraduate qualification or equivalent
  • Digital marketing qualification preferred
  • Expertise in and experience of using CMS, digital outreach systems (email, webinars etc) and social media implementation (especially LinkedIn & Twitter)
    • Extensive knowledge of CMS (Content Management System) – ideally Drupal
    • An understanding of HTML, CSS
    • Knowledge of webinar/webcast systems
    • Extensive experience with marketing e-mail systems
    • Experience of using CRM, ideally Salesforce
    • Strong knowledge of Google Analytics and Google Adwords
    • Highly numerate with good oral and written communication skills
    • High level of attention to detail, as the role requires exceptional organisational and planning skills, ability to multitask and a pragmatic approach to problem-solving
    • Enthusiasm, a positive attitude and the ability to work under pressure and to tight deadlines are key
    • Ability to work independently while also being a team player and strong communicator, who work as the nexus between Sales, Editorial and the Tech team
    • Capable of working with agencies or contractors to scope, manage and deliver specialist pieces of work outside of internal skill sets or capabilities
